A gray wolf slipped through the trees. Her blue eyes were watchful, her ears alert. Her paws made no sound on the grass, and her tail was still. River.
It was sunny, with a few clouds. A nice day overall. And River was intending to enjoy it. She made her way to the river, the place she was named after. She often spent her afternoons here, swimming, and running up and down the bank. Today, she just intended to think. Think about her future. Think about her past. Think about her present.
As she reached the bank, she took a deep sniff, checking to see if anyone else was around. No one was. The rest of her pack must have been somewhere else. She walked down the bank, wondering if anyone else would show up. The wind blew softly through the trees, making the leaves rustle. It was strangly silent today. No prey moved, no wolves appeared. It was incredibly calm, a fact she liked. But she didn't want to spend the day alone. So sniffing the air, she looked to see if any other wolves were around.

A lone, female Grey Wolf rested in the forest, the pine cones dropping every now and then next to her big furry body. She slept soundly as the leaves rustled through the trees, nothing could bother her in a deep sleep, not even a hurricane. The leaves dropped on her grey pelt, which had some black stripes across her back and shoulders. Her ears flicked in her sleep, perhaps she was dreaming, or maybe pretending to be asleep; whatever the case, she wouldn't open her eyes. The wind blowed past and made her fur dance on her back, she opened her eyes slowly. She yawned big and stretched out her sleeping muscles, her tongue slid out of her muzzle to lick her lips. "Hm, what a fine day today." She stretched out once more. She suddenly spotted another wolf, by the falls. "I haven't seen a soul out here in a while, better go find out who that is." Her tail waved slowly as she approached the wolf, as she got closer, she could smell the wolf was a female. She squinted her eyes through the morning sunlight, she lifted a paw and cocked her head. The female looked lonely, which made a slight smile appear on her muzzle, she loved to meet lonely wolves. Maybe they could play, she loved to play with others, and she was quite friendly, so she trotted up to the female happily.

River leaned down to get a drink, the cool water slipping down her throat. The pack had caught a large deer the other day, and they had eaten well, so she wouldn't need to hunt for a while. Stretching, she climbed back up the bank. She sceneted the other wolf before she saw her. A lone female. While her pack usually didn't talk with wolves of other packs, they did talk, sometimes even hunt or play with loners. They didn't have an allegiance with another pack, so it was no problem. Standing up straight, she turned to the wolf, giving a quick lick of her fur to smooth it down. She studied her for a moment, seeing if she looked friendly or not. Her fur raised slightly as she made sure the wolf wasn't acting hostile. She wasn't. She was almost smiling, and seemed happy to see another wolf. River relaxed, her fur lying flat. "I'm River, part of the Scorching Shadows pack. Who are you?" She mewed, her expression friendly.

I WANNA BE WILD [shadow=black,left,300]{ I wanna set free } [/shadow]I WANNA GO CRAZY, THAT'S JUST ME!
Remy slid through the terrain, as he did so his rough pelt picked up snow. He could smell River, one of his loyal pack members. Remy was the leader of the Scorching Shadows pack, he loved all the members of the pack, he especially enjoyed interacting with his pack members.
Remy was getting closer to River quickly. Remy began to pick up another scent, another scent of a female. Curious as to who the new female was Remy fastened his pace. It wasn't long before Remy broke through the dense forest, spotting River and a female wolf he never met. Remy slowly walked over to River who was at the edge of the water. Remy's pelt began to stick up, he wasn't sure if this female was friendly or not. "Good evening River" Remy said with a nod of his head, staring into River's eyes.
Remy then took time to look over the female wolf he never met. She looked rather strong, she would make a good pack member. Remy turned over to River once again, whispering into her ear "Who is are guest?" he asked curiously with caution in his voice. Remy didn't take his eyes of the female wolf, incase she were to attack.

Dakota stopped in her tracks and listened to the female intently as she spoke with her soft tone of voice. "Cool, I'm Dakota, a loner, wanna play?" She was a little startled when the other male wolf came to the female's side before she got closer, she could sense the male was of high position, but relaxed, "Oh boy, another wolf to play with!" She whimpered playfully, she ran in a little circle doing her happy dance and then bounced over to the two. "Hello there sir, who are are you?" She asked, her tail still waving behind her as she panted.

(the word count is 200 words) River sniffed the air, checking to see if anyone else was around. Sure enough, someone was. Remy, her pack leader. He walked over, and greeted her. "Good evening Remy." She replied in response, dipping her in respect to her leader. A bird cawed overhead, and she looked up for a moment to watch it fly by, before turning back to Remy and the loner.
"Don't worry, she's friendly Remy." She said, detecting the caution in his voice. "What's your name, anyway?" She asked, turning back to the loner. "And I doubt you'll really get Remy to play." The loner seemed very playful, a trait River lacked. She was more serious, having left the playful stage behind a long time ago. Though she sometimes relaxed, and would chase around another wolf, she rarely strictly played. Her blue eyes watched everything around her, her hunting and fighting senses always on alert.

I WANNA BE WILD [shadow=black,left,300]{ I wanna set free } [/shadow]I WANNA GO CRAZY, THAT'S JUST ME!
Remy nodded in approvance when River told him the female wolf was safe to be around. "What are you to be called by?" Remy asked the female wolf, looking her in the eye. His tail slowly waved back in forth, a notion made when he felt calm. Remy thought the new wolf was interesting, there weren't too many wolves around who were so playfull. Once a wolf becomes part of a pack they kind of straighten up their act, becoming more serious and aware.
Remy's tail brushed against River's pelt as he swayed it back and forth through the air, he hoped that she didn't care, maybe she didn't even acknowledge it. Most female wolves knew that Remy could be a flirt, and most of them excepted it. The female wolf told Remy her name Remy smiled "I'm Remy, leader of the Scorching Shadows pack" he snickered slightly, his eyes seeming to turn darker. Remy wondered if Dakota ever thought of joining a pack. Remy didn't know what it was like to be a loner and he never really had the desire to find out.
Remy guessed that being a loner was probably well, lonely. Who do you turn to with problems? Who do you talk to? That's why Remy was scared to be a loner, yes Remy was scared of being a loner because he would be alone.

TANDOM [/color] LIVE LIKE YOU MEAN IT[/color][/center][/font] A large black wolf walked through the snow, using her abnormally large paws as snowshoes to walk through the thick heavy layers of snow covering the ground. Snow clung to her pelt, helping her to slightly blend with her suroundings. The she-wolf looked up at the clear blue sky. Lifting her muzzle she could smell Remy, the Alpha Male of her pack, River, one of her loyal members. There was another sent, that she had never smelt before. Courious, she headed to them quickly almost flying over the ground. The black wolf was named Tandom the leader of Scorching Shadows.
As Tandom made her way to the wolves she stayed alert, just in case. As she reached them Tandom slowed down slightly but she still moves quickly over the ground. When she was closer she slowed even more making her way closer. As she reached them she walked slowly and casually. "Hello River, Remy" Tandom barked in a friendly was. Then looked at the wolf she had never seen. "And whom may you be" she asked the wolf cousiuosly. Who was it, Tandom had never seen or sensed her before. She was probably a loner and lived outside of the packs, Tandom thought.

As River quietly listened to them, she felt Remy's tail brush her pelt. She didn't really mind, and everyone knew Remy could be a flirt. He did it with most female wolves in their pack. Everyone pretty much expected it. Dakota. So that was her name. She wondered what it was like to be a loner. Not that she wanted to find out. Living on your own, moving from place to place, the life had never appealed to her. She didn't want to be alone all the time. She was much happier living with the wolves in her pack, hunting and running with them through their territory. She loved her life now, and would never go back to her old one. Though she had been born a loner, she had no wish to go back to that life.
Another scent reached her nose. Tandom, another one of their loyal pack members. She turned to where the scent was coming from, and spotted her walking towards them. "Hello Tandom." She replied to her greeting, a friendly expression on her face. "And this is Dakota. She's a loner." She replied.

Dakota waited til River stopped speaking, she turned around and smiled cheerfully at the black she-wolf, "Hello Tandom." Her tail whipped the air wildly as more and more wolves came into the scene, she nodded to their alpha Remy. "What River said, my name's Dakota." She looked at all the wolves around her, her heart leaped with joy. She felt like she belonged in their pack, though she wasn't really, with three wolves around, it felt like a whole pack to her. She had lived in a pack before, and she longed to be in a pack once again. "So anyone want to play or what?" Dakota put herself in a play-bow position with her tail waving high in the air. "C'mon, you don't wanna just stand around all day do ya?" She didn't wait for anyone to answer, she nipped Remy on his shoulder and jumped back, expecting him to chase her. Her twin jaws separated as she let out a quick yawn and panted.

I WANNA BE WILD [shadow=black,left,300]{ I wanna set free } [/shadow]I WANNA GO CRAZY, THAT'S JUST ME!
"Hey Tandom!" Remy said smiling. Remy was just stretching when he felt Dakota nip him. Remy was shocked, he wasn't expecting this. He tried to remember how long ago it was that he had played with someone. Oh what the heck, why not take advantage of this chance to mess around? Remy thought. Remy snickered and leaped over to Dakota, landing on top of her, tackling her to the snowy floor. "Gotcha!" Remy said playfully, knocking her gently over the head with his paw.
Before Dakota could get back at him Remy he hopped off of her. Remy sat on the ground as if he didn't know what to do with himself. Remy lifted his paw to his muzzle and licked it, cleaning the icey cold snow off of it, just for snow to get on it again. Remy looked up at Tandom and River who now probably thought Remy was crazy. Remy chuckled and looked down at the ground, shaking his pelt free of snow. Remy wondered what it would be like to have pups someday, to play with them, care for them, and nurture them. Remy wondered if he would ever fall in love with someone, he wondered what the females on his pack thought of him. Did they think that him being a flirt was a bad thing?

River gave a smile as Remy chased after Dakota. So he did have a playful side. It just rarely showed its self. River couldn't remember the last time she had played. Ever since joining Agonia, she had become more serious, had stopped playing and letting go once in a while. She watched, Remy and Dakota playing reminding her of her kit days, the days with her parents...She quickly pushed the thought aside, not wanting to face those painful memories.
She sat down, curling her tail over her paws, still watching Dakota and Remy. Remy really was a flirt, but River didn't think it was a bad thing. He was a strong leader, and a good friend to his pack members. Part of her wondered if he'd ever settle down, find a mate. At times, she'd find herself wondering if she'd ever find a mate. She wondered if she'd have cubs, start a family. But then again, she didn't seem to be the type of wolf males looked for. Though part of her wanted a family, she knew it might not happen, and she had grown to accept it. Males simply never looked her way, at least not in that way, and it was something she had long grown accustomed to.

TANDOM [/color] LIVE LIKE YOU MEAN IT[/color][/center][/font] Tandom smiled at Dakota, she seemed nice and playful. She wondered how old the liner was since she still liked playing. Tandom smiled at Remy "It's good to meet you Dakota" she said then watched Dakota knip at Remy. Tandom stiffened a chuckle as she watched Remy and Dakota play. Tandom hadn't played in a while but missed it. She was playful at times but tryed to stay a little serious since she was the Alphena of the pack and was supposed to lead them, with the help of Remy of course. But it was a big responsibility and it had to be taken seriously.
Tandom this time chuckled as Remy looked up at them. He was a flirt. But It didn't matter he was good at leading and helping Tandom when she wasn't sure if she would ever have a mate or pups of her own. She didnt think so, no male wolves ever flirted or looked at her in that way. Tandom was not born in this pack, she was born to a lone wolf that was to weak to live and care for Tandon and her brother. That was all Tandom was a wolf born to a helpless loner.
OCC: Hey Remy, wouldn't Tandom and Remy he mates since you're the Alpha male and Tabsoms the Alphena? [/blockquote]

I WANNA BE WILD [shadow=black,left,300]{ I wanna set free } [/shadow]I WANNA GO CRAZY, THAT'S JUST ME!
Remy got up off the ground, walking down the river to the south. He figured he should probably give the females some time alone. Remy held his tail high in the air and swayed it back in forth as he walked away. He noticed some birds flying in V formation, he wondered what it would be like to fly. To leave your problems behind, and runaway. To runaway from everything.
Remy howled a call back to the females, a howl that was used to find a mate. Remy chuckled knowing that Tandom, and River would know he was just messing with them. As for Dakota, she would probably think he was serious. Remy continued walking away, stopping to lap up some of the freezing river water. It was amazing to him how everything on earth had it's own purpose, like a circle of life. Once finished drinking water, Remy cut through the woods. Remy walked to a tree he often went to, the tree was super wide, having a hollowed out area in the center of it. Remy climbed into the hollow hiding place. He watched his surroundings, thinking about things, thinking about everything that passed him, every little noise, and delicate detail.

River watched Remy walk off, figuring he was probably just giving them some space. She turned back to Tandom and Dakota, her thoughts drifting off in directions she didn't want them too. There had been a river that had run past their cave, and she remembered playing with her littermates on the bank, under the watchful eye of their parents. She tried to push the thoughts aside, but the memories kept coming. And with the happy ones, came the one that she'd remember for the rest of her life.
A shadow passed over her face for a brief moment as that day rushed through her mind. She still had nightmares, though she would never admit it to anyone. She was a grown wolf, an adult. There was no reason that day should sill be plaguing her, still...scaring her. A shiver still ran up her spine when she remembered the way her littermates had cried out, her parents howled. She gave a quick shake of her pelt, trying to clear her mind of it. But some days, like today, the memory just wouldn't go away. She hoped none of the other wolves noticed, so she drifted off in the direction opposite Remy had gone. She wandered down the bank for a moment, staring off into the distance.
